Inspiring Photos?
Just wanted to give credit where it is due. None of the previous photo's are my work. The photo's came from Pinterest. I just love them. Thanks Lolly
Inspiring Photo's
Wanted to show some photo's that inspire me. There is a common thread. Color and pattern. My personal space has paintings from ceiling to floor, and lots of color and pattern. I have learned to be fearless with color because it can always be changed. Make safer choices with upholstery pieces, which I never do but should, and mistakes can be fixed. I will be in Atlanta this week for the start of my upholstery classes. I am excited. I have a friend in Mobile, Alabama, Tina who has recently sent me pictures of great finds from where I don't know but they are to die for and I am excited to see what she does with them. She is great at upholstery and fabric choices. She also makes unusual things such as bouquets made of vintage brooches. I hope soon to have pictures of those.
My daughter from New York also called with I think unique ideas for my little shop. I am anxious to get into the shop and implement those. Hope to have a busy week, I will be posting pics of new things soon. And I hope to be more diligent about before and after, Thanks Lolly

Just Thinking
Well as I peruse all my favorite blogs today I am as usual in awe of all the great design and ideas. I feel it only fair to say that my inspiration and design ideas are due to the blogs, books, and magazines I follow. I hope here with my little blog I can honor some who have given me such great ideas. My goal is not to show all the great design out there, but what I do with your talents. I hope to make a small place for my blog. Thanks Lolly

Yeah
First let me tell a little more about my concept and philosophy for my shop. I love unique one-of-a-kind pieces. It does not matter if it is furniture or pillows or upholstery. My goal is to recycle old things into new and unique treasures. I love furniture and fabric. This is not new, I can tell from blogland that many feel as I do. My family has always had to be ready at anytime to stop and get, even in rush hour traffic, or on an interstate, or in the middle of the night. Once on my way to work I was late and as I was leaving my neighborhood I spotted a nice club chair. I could not stop so I called my mom with in a few minutes she was on her way, it was after all trash day, that's why the chair was there. In 30 minutes she called and said I've got it, and boy was it heavy. When I got home that evening and retrieved the chair from her I died laughing. It was so heavy I could barely lift it, and my poor little mom lifted it into a van all by herself. My obsession drives my entire family to dangerous tasks.Well after many years wondering if people would share my style I decided to give it a shot. I took a huge risk opening in a small town like Blairsville, but I did feel that even though it was small and secluded why should people go elsewhere, like Blue Ridge or Hiawassee. This little town deserved business. So far I think I did the right thing. My support has been great. It is totally different from anything around here, most enjoying rusticity at it's best. But there are more than a few who want different choices. Yesterday my daughter Madison and I were working on a beautiful home in Atlanta and took the opportunity to pick up some new items for our shop, they will be included in my future pictures, and I will also include more in the future before and after pics. Thanks and I hope you like this past weeks shots Lolly

New Pictures for Sharon and Alex
Guess what, I have new pictures and should have newer ones tomorrow. Things have changed a lot due to selling. I also have new paintings inspired by a wonderful french artist that will appear soon. But for now here are a few pieces in the shop and that I did recently for a large resort in North Carolina

Finally
Well here are a few of the exciting shop views a couple are from before we opened painting the walls and experimenting on designs. The middle two are recently. The shop is constantly changing. We have been so successful especially with sofas and chest of drawers. One chest I did unfortunately I did not get a picture. It did not last overnight. We have so much fun on the search. I try so hard to bring Blairsville new and exciting things, and it takes time to find the treasures for the right price. I think my customers really love that things are different and constantly changing. One lady stops in at least weekly just to see what is new. Today my daughter and I went to Chattanooga to pick up an especially wonderful piece and we had a friend work the shop for us. When we got back several large pieces were gone. Yippee. Tomorrow to the search again. Happy days happy days. Hi Allie. Lolly
