Fun Job

I've been working on this great job in Blue Ridge for a nice family from Atlanta. They had plain french doors (16 of them)  with no pizzaz. Pamela called them mobile home doors. So what is a girl to do but transform them. Sorry the pictures are'nt that great the sun was behind the doors. And my battery went dead after two pictures. I'll try again today. The first is after a plaster relief was applied and once dry we stained with various colors. the second is a close up of the detail.
This is my little tutu that sold the other day. I loved her. But she went to great people. Getting excited about the move. Pictures soon.

Chair

I was fortunate enough to get 5 of these mid-century cuties for a song. I can see them done for a dining room 4 to match and two wingbacks at the head of the table....but here in Blairsville I just don't sell sets... everyone wants one... so I will do them all different. I like them enough to maybe keep one. we will see.

Better Pictures

These two pictures are of the same area but with different paintings. I like the Mod one. What do you think?

I moved in my two new dressers I am not sure of placement but I love them. The tall one is the milk paint dresser, I ordered turquoise but the paint was definitely blue oh well.  I am still moving things around. Lolly

Loving all these pictures.

Moving

Wanted to let all in on a little secret. We will be moving the shop in the next couple months. We love the building we are in, but..... it is to expensive. When we first took this space we were so new to how things go with this business that we did not make as good a decision as we needed in many areas esp location and cost. We were before we rented here looking at a place on the square, but alas there were none big enough. Since we rented this spot a couple came open. At first I did not think much of it, we were here and that was that, but as time went on many of my customers told me I needed to be closer to the square.( Pictures will come). So one day as I was going to work I saw a for rent sign in the spot I wanted before. The bike shop had moved next door because they needed a bigger spot.  After a while I decided I would just check. Nothing had to happen and there was no harm in checking.  Well they building owners were so nice, I immediately loved them. They were willing to pay for small remodels and alot of fufu plaster if Maddy and I did some of the work. Best part ...the rent is half.  The size is similar maybe slightly larger, but ON THE SQUARE, everything seems so great, hard to pass up right.  Our rent on the other spot is not up till December so starting mid Sept to Oct we will begin to transform the new space. I plan to show alot of pictures as we make progress. Soon I will take location pictures then as we begin to work I'll keep everyone up to speed. Till then keep posted for new pieces and ideas. Lolly

Couple new shots

The first two photos are some new shots in the shop and my new sassy sofa I just recently recovered. I love it. Especially looks great with zany pillows. The last is a lamp I am working on. The complete reveal will be soon. Lolly

To my Customers

Tomorrow on my day off haha I will post pictures of a few new things, but for now I want to say a big thank you to all my wonderful customers. Since I opened I have had a wonderful and supportive customer base. But there a a few people who stand out that really make all the work it takes for something like this worth while. Some of my special people are Katie Mashburn and her mother Mary. To hear there happiness when they see what they like touches me.They always express delight when they come in and recognize that new things are in the shop. Their words of encouragment and praise are worth there weight in gold. One young lady I'm not sure what she would think if I gave her name says she dreams of the shop and going around and around looking. I love that. I dream of the shop too but mine are different. haha. Then there is Colleen and her mother, they are so artsy, the way they dress is a dead giveaway. Beautiful, tasteful, yet artistic. They come in at least weekly, as do Katie and Mary, and always encourage me to be myself and give the community expressive work. Janice who is Katies mother-in-law comes in almost as frequently, she is wonderful. She works for the city so she is right around the corner. She always encourages me to keep it up, Blairsville needs something a little different and she helps me keep going with constructive advice because of all her years with the city she knows what it takes to be successful. Then there is  dear Robin who comes in occassionally she is in College and works full time so her time and budget is stretched to the max. She has a wonderful sense of adventure in her style, and does not mind the wild side. Her entire family comes in as often as possible. There is Susan Avesian, despite her husband not being crazy about my work she love it anyway. There is Liz Ruf,Trudy Davenport and many more, as the week goes by I will tell about more of my wonderful customers but for now I must get ready for work. Lolly

New Piece

This is a new piece I just finished. I had grand plans for her front but she was so beautiful just like she was that I nixed the frontal embellishment. The last two are her before's. I could have done something grand on the draws but I just recently realized that at times it is more cost effective to just stop. I love hoe she turned out. Next I will try milk paint. Lolly

I have some wonderful pieces and a custom designed sofa from the royal custom furniture company in California. I hope to post them this weekend. Lolly

MacKenzie-Childs

On a recent trip to NY I had the priviledge of visiting a MacKenzie-Childs  Shop on 5th Avenue in Manhattan. There was so much inspiration there. I was delighted to use the elevator and bathroom. Every surface was embellished. Of course their items of very expensive and the average person could barely afford a teacup, but to look ahhh !!!. Stay tuned for my new pieces. Several are in the works. Lolly

Sold

Today was a great day We sold several tables my painting and the gold leaf table in the last picture. Yeah

C Wonder

These doors are to die for. Apple Green is one of my favorites.
Love the Green Velvet couch. I'm on the hunt for this.

This wallpaper was amazing and combined with the bright green trim was a definite eye catcher. This shop was in NY just on the outskirts of China Town and Little Italy. I stayed in Brooklyn but walked across the Brooklyn Bridge to China Town and uh oh back on the Manhattan Bridge. What a trip. This week and next I will continue to show pictures of NY. I saw Mackenzie Childs and The Plaza they will appear soon. Lolly
