Changes

Just wanted to show some work in progress, it is hard for me to remember to photo before pictures but this is a tufted headboard via tutorial from Cre8tivedesignsinc I did remember after I had already started to snap a couple quick photos. the last pic is the footboard. It is not as ornate as Cre8tivedesigninc but it was a good quality piece. It was the old 80's pickled and I painted distressed and glazed first. then attached the foam an started with fabric my first plan was to do official tufting with the covered buttons but then I decided to use the staples and use large clavos. Finale this weekend

These pictures are of new items and some rearranging going on. Yes I have the Royal design stencil Paris in Springtime. Love it. Decided after this that the hot pink wall has to go. I am not liking anything in front of it. Next tues or Wed it will change, not sure what it will be.  I have lots of Melanies stencils.

These last few pictures are behind the scenes. The long french table is for myself I silver leafed the edge it is great. The Duncan  phyfe sofa is getting ready for a redo Can you guess what I'll do. She is on her belly today for breakdown. The other two are french headboards that were made into benches for a dining room table. I am not quite finished but stay tuned for several reveals.

Yippee

Today while I was working, a repeat customer Stacy Raper came in to see my oops chair. Guess what? She had seen it on facebook. Her friend and another customer  Shandy I am not sure of my spelling had posted it. It is very exciting to have fans. I am so excited, I quickly called my daughter to tell her, we both worry that our style may be too drastic for a small town like Blairsville. I think we are wrong. We have many wonderful and supportive clients
. Our little town is 90 miles north of Atlanta, we have a large retired group, and a large second home group mixed in with our locals. It is one of the most beautiful areas I have ever lived. Large bodies of water all around. One friend we brought from Montana said it reminded him of Hawaii.  It is beautiful and I hope to post more pictures of the town and scenery soon. Anyway just a quick thanks to all my customers who are helping us succeed. Lolly

Scared but excited

Just wanted everyone to see yes it is official!!! I am taking an upholstery course.  Naomi of House of Naomi is our instructor. My Mom is taking the class also. We are having fun. House of Naomi is located just outside the heart of Atlanta, in Atlantic Station near 17th and Northside. This area is spectacular. The  landscaping is fantastic. My daughter Madison was supposed to be taking pictures in the area but mostly was sidetracked. There is a park with a minature Arch of Triumph. Geese, ducks etc roaming the area. Spectacular restaurants.  We ate lunch at Cheesecake Bistro. I can't tell you how great the food was, Madison had a crabmeat, and lobster pizza. It was amazing. For dessert we split the White chocolate bread pudding, as you can see we were anxious to dive in. Mom got the last bite. It was better than many from New Orleans. Our waitress was great her name was Rene and you can see from the picture how adorable she was, and had personality galore. Ask for her you will be glad you did.
The shop House of Naomi is well worth a visit. Naomi is very talented and helpful. If  ever anyone is in that area it is a must see. As you can see from above what my settee was like a small camel back chippendale. Stay tuned for the finale. It will take a couple weeks but I hope it is as great as my minds eye. Check back frequently for updates. Till then I'll post things going on at my shop. L

Me and Stacey

OK first of all this little blog site so nicely asks me only to upload pictures of a certain size. Well that does not mean much to me so I just pick and download, it took an hour. Sorry site administrator I won't do it again. Now down to serious business. Some of these, 5 of the last six are my personal shots inside Staceage. I think it is much better embellished now than on their site, and I wanted everyone to see especially those wonderful throws. I know I know they are not for the faint of heart, but they need to be touched and held to be fully appreciated. The fringe and tassels are plush, the velvet there are no words, even the faux fur,it is divine and I hate faux fur. This will change a girls mind. All the other pictures are either pieces I have done, or designed. The rooms with the blue walls and it is actually a light blue green is my apartment. Yes I have a blue velvet chesterfield. In real life it is more like light peacock. I love it. I was driving down Par Harrelson last year and out of the corner of my eye I spotted this blue pleather chesterfield sofa in the yard. There must be a penalty for that, I am sure it is illegal. I slammed on brakes and backed up. It was in my truck bed in 5 minutes for $50.00. I hem hawed for about 2 months then found this velvet, I won't say where or how much but it was unbelievable. So that is how she ended up. My youngest daughter who lives with me has threatened my life if I tote it to the shop.
The top picture is a piece I did and sold. I have no befores but it was maple. If there are questions about anything else feel free to ask. I will say I should have cleaned before I took pictures. but I forgot. And I guess it is obvious I love art. Hope you like it. Lolly

Fearless

There are a couple designers who blog that have really had an effect on me and the way I feel about my personal style. They are decidedly different yet similar. One is Jill Sorenson of Live Like You. The above are pictures from her blog. She has an amazing sense of color and is fearless. I love that. I think probably all know her blog but if not check it out. She gave me the bravery I needed to open with my style in a small conservative town in North Georgia. I hope you enjoy her style. Some of these are her work and some are pics that inspire her. Tomorrow I will talk about Leslie Sinclair of Segreto.

Quick look this morning

Just wanted to show a few inspiring pictures for today. Even though my main goal is to show what I do with your inspiring ideas it never hurts to display beautiful design. For some reason each one grabbed my attention. The way the plates are arranged in the first picture, the wall, papered with newspaper and embellished with molding, the settee at the dining table, the gorgeous bench, and this beautiful display of color. Pink and blue are great and classy together in these tones. Hopefully later this weekend I will be adding new pictures of my furniture. Unfortunately I have forgotten some before pics. My work can be sometimes extremely colorful or whimsical, but I noticed on One Kings Lane some beautiful lime green cabinets, they were sold, color is showing up everywhere, even in France. Some of the news there is bright and bold, love that. Thanks hope you enjoy Lolly

Staceage Yeah

Yesterday I was in Atlanta to sign up for my upholstery class. The shop is in Atlantic Station and it was great. The upholsterer who will teach my class is Naomi of House of Naomi. Her shop is unique and fun. Very trendy and ethnic. She had loads of ideas and very sharing in her knowledge.
While we were in Atlanta of course if you love fabric which I do, Lewis & Sheron is a must see. I have not been there for awhile, so was I surprised to see Staceage. This was a wonderful and inspiring showroom of vintage meets modern and fun. I personally love whimsical, and this made me happy. I have a touch of this style although not to this extent inside me. I think it is reflected in my concept as you can see from my shop pictures. Stacy takes it much further, and I was  delighted. These pics are from her website, but I snapped a few for me but need to upload them. It is hard to see but all her finishes on the vintage furniture are high gloss metallic even glittery. That might be a bit much for more than one fun piece but it was definitely eye candy for me.  There is only one shot of her throws in here but they are fantastic and plush. Lots of fur and trim. I have a couple great shots that I will post later. I think it is a must see for anyone of any style if they are in Atlanta. The showroom is in their Fabric store and that is on Huff Road please go see them if you are ever here. Hope you all enjoy this as much as I did.
