Finally

Well here are a few of the exciting shop views a couple are from before we opened painting the walls and experimenting on designs. The middle two are recently. The shop is constantly changing.  We have been so successful especially with sofas and chest of drawers. One chest I did unfortunately I did not get a picture. It did not last overnight. We have so much fun on the search.  I try so hard to bring Blairsville new and exciting things, and it takes time to find the treasures for the right price. I think my customers really love that things are different and constantly changing. One lady stops in at least weekly just to see what is new. Today my daughter and I went to Chattanooga to pick up an especially wonderful piece and we had a friend work the shop for us. When we got back several large pieces were gone. Yippee. Tomorrow to the search again. Happy days happy days. Hi Allie.  Lolly

Great day

Wanted to let you know things are good. Business was great today sold a couch, several tables and some glassware. Also made a trip to pick up a gorgeous vintage sofa. It is tufted and beautiful. But when I got home I had an email from my daughter-in-law with my grandsons first real fishing trip picture. Thought I would share it since it is on my computer, and that is where it needs to be for me to down load anything. Talk soon

When it rains it pours

Who ever said that was right. This was the right time to start my own business, mainly because my painting/plaster business had slowed. Guess what? as soon as I am ready to open old clients start calling. It has been so hectic it is hard to remember anything without lists lately.  I am back working a couple days a week in NC.  The lodge I told you about needed more work and much more furniture done.  Well we are worn out. I had to spend my Sunday running all around Atlanta for treasures because I need to work during the week. I guess I need to be happy at least I have work. Well an update on my shop. It was great last week. I decided if I could just make my rent for awhile I would be happy, but we have exceeded that three times over. We were not even open two weeks. I hope it continues that way. Found great things this weekend in Atlanta many handmade rugs. Two lamps that were probably 400.00 when purchased for 10.00. I am a happy camper. Check in soon

Tuesday

Guess what ? last night while purusing craigslist for great treasures ( I seem to find alot of beautiful vintage sofas in need of reupholstery ) I found an add for an upholsterer in Atlanta who teaches. I could not resist I signed up. The classes are twice a week for 6 weeks. That will make my little shop better because I found so many things in need of that service. Yea Yea Yea. Let you know how it goes. Lolly

Monday

Hi all just wanted to check in and let you know I have not forgotten. And give you a little history on us.  Last year I worked for a 1930's lodge in Robinsville NC. My daughter and I were part of a team that refurbished a forgotten spot. It was one of the most delightful jobs if you can call it a job. They called and wanted me to come back a help not only with more furniture finishes but also design ideas. Yippee.  We went there today and I am on cloud nine.  It was great. This first picture is my girl clowning around on the job. Well we will be there two days a week for a few weeks. They have allowed me to get pictures and post them so next week I will, as I add my shop photos. Thank you all for your patience. The second picture is inspirational and I painted an armoir for my shop with this staring at me so soon you will see my concept of this, as you will the third and fourth. Well I'm a monster with adding pictures now see you soon. Lolly

Second Post

Ok I was able to do it so now I will download pictures from my shop and hope all will enjoy. First I'd like to say I picked a picture from my last house. That was when we were in Montana. My youngest daughter and I built that mantle from huge solid beams that a neighbor gave us, and we did all they plaster. My taste has changed in 4 years it is much brighter colorful and daring now. I will check in with progress soon. Thanks Lolly

My first post

Hi I have been waiting to blog for months.  I am a new shop owner in a small North Georgia town.  I love everything that has to do with design, gardening and cooking. My blog will be mainly about my new shop, and the adventures I encounter while trying to find and renew treasures, and how my market takes it.  My style and eye for goods is a little different, so I hope all will like or at least be entertained by it.  Posting pictures will be my biggest challenge. My dear friend and her mother have tried for weeks to help me, but this site seems a little more user friendly.  I hope that I will be able to post daily but more likely it will be weekly.  I am going to try to post now some inspiration pictures. Thanks for your patience, and soon I will post my shop pictures and furniture pieces Lolly
